Speaking on The Overlap, Paul Scholes has been speaking about Tottenham and Harry Kane’s poor run of form.
It’s no secret that Kane has been out of sorts so far this season. He’s yet to score a single league goal and he looks a shell of his former self.
What’s wrong with Kane right now? Well, there are many possible explanations. Some believe that the dark cloud of this summer’s transfer saga is still hanging over him, while it could also just be a case of fatigue after a long summer of representing England at the Euros.
However, Scholes believes that his problem could lie tactically, stating that Nuno Espirito Santo’s system could be the issue.

Scholes was speaking about Nuno and his system.
“Seriously though. That may explain Kane’s form, you watch Wolves over the past two years and they were the most boring team ever, they just waited for teams to make mistakes and you can’t do that at Tottenham,” Scholes said.
Doesn’t fit in
Scholes is right in what he says, well, perhaps apart from calling Nuno’s Wolves boring, they were actually quite fun to watch for those first two seasons, especially when Adama Traore, Pedro Neto and Diogo Jota were in the team.
Regardless, the point about Kane is spot on. This isn’t a striker who thrives on jumping on people’s mistakes, he’s a player who can single-handedly control a game, but in a Nuno team he’s not really allowed to do that.
Kane is at his best when he’s on the ball a lot, but this season he’s barely had the chance to showcase his skills.
Perhaps this is just an example of a manager and a player being a bad match for one another.
