Gary Neville has hailed Liverpool and England star Jordan Henderson by stating that he is someone who should be getting ‘more plaudits than he gets’, as he told ITV Sport.
The Manchester United legend was reacting to VT footage of the Liverpool player’s rise from his days at Sunderland, the work he has done for the NHS during the pandemic and the relationship he has with his father who was diagnosed with cancer, as he helped repay the NHS team that helped save his dad’s life.
It has been some journey for the 32-year-old, who was handed his Sunderland debut by Roy Keane, brought to Anfield by Kenny Dalglish and started his England journey under Fabio Capello.

Those are some very, very strong characters that provided Henderson with his start to those journeys and he is now repaid them with a very strong career that is still on-going.
From winning the European Cup in Madrid to repping his country on football’s biggest stage, Neville was full of praise for the career Henderson has had.
“That’s made me quite emotional watching that clip and the normality of it,” said Neville. “His dad and speaking about him.
“All the millions of boys and girls who dream about playing for England. They will love the fashionable players. Out here, we have got Jack Grealish, Foden and Bellingham, who are heroes.
“But you want your son or daughter to have the quality of Jordan Henderson, who gives his all every single day. He has achieved the maximum out of his life and he never gives in.
“Then he is doing good things off the pitch and he is a decent man. He should get a lot more plaudits than he gets.”

HENDERSON’S LAST TOURNAMENT
England bowed out of the quarter-final stages of the World Cup on Saturday when they suffered a narrow yet heart-breaking defeat to France.
At the age of 32, this could possibly be Henderson’s last-ever major tournament, although, Euro 2024 is less than 18 months away.
Given that this is a winter World Cup, then the next major tournament isn’t too far away, but will Henderson be part of that group?
At Anfield, Jurgen Klopp is set to refresh his midfield, which could see a certain Jude Bellingham move to Merseyside, if that happens then someone like Henderson’s game time could decrease.
