Speaking on Amazon Prime Video Sport’s Youtube channel, Phil Foden has been waxing-lyrical about Tottenham star Harry Kane.

Foden was answering a few questions for the YouTube video for Amazon, and they gave him quite a tricky one.

Indeed, Foden was asked to pick between a prime Alan Shearer and a prime Harry Kane, and perhaps surprisingly, Foden went for his England teammate.

What’s been said about Kane?

Foden had nothing but praise for Kane, labelling him one of the best finishers he’s ever seen, claiming that it’s special to be able to play alongside him.

“Prime Kane. Yeah, because he’s my teammate I see him in training and he’s one of the best finishers that I’ve ever seen. So, obviously, just to play with him is really special,” Foden said.

Better than Shearer?

As much as we all love Kane and as much as we respect Foden’s opinion, it’s hard to say that Kane in his prime is better than Shearer in his.

Shearer is the all-time Premier League top goalscorer for a reason. At his peak he was the most lethal striker on the planet, and he once hit 34 league goals in a Premier League campaign.

Of course, Kane boasts the playmaking ability that Shearer somewhat lacked, but, for strikers, goals are the currency of the day.

When all is said and done, Kane may surpass Shearer’s accomplishments, but, right now, we have to pick the Newcastle legend over the Spurs star.
