Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks has shared on his Instagram story that he two-footed Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings in training on Tuesday.
He wrote on his Instagram story: ‘That fake smile after two-footing @tyronemings,” added with laughter emojis and a serious face emoji.
Both Winks and Mings were being all jovial about it because, with the caption, the Spurs man shared a picture of him turning around to the Villa centre-back in training and smiling.
Mings did issue his own response on his own Instagram story and he wrote: “Straight red in a game,” added with laughter emojis.
Both Winks and Mings were on the pitch during England’s defeat to Belgium on Sunday, with the Spurs man coming on as a half-time substitute for Jordan Henderson.
Whilst today’s clash against Iceland in the UEFA Nations League is a dead-rubber, it will be interesting to see if both players are selected from the off by their manager.
Many are urging Gareth Southgate to change formation and put an extra man in the middle of the park, but so far, he has stuck with his three at the back and two-man midfield.
But will the performance of Mings’ club teammate, Jack Grealish, change his mind because many believe England’s front three in the current formation would be – Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford.
If that’s the case then a certain in-form playmaker will be sitting on the bench and taking away that much-needed creativity his county needs.
