Andy Cole has stated that Luis Diaz is a ‘special’ player for Liverpool, as he told Premier League Productions (12/03/22 at 8:40 pm).
The former Premier League striker added that Liverpool have ‘so many wonderful players’ following their 2-0 win at Brighton on Saturday.
Diaz, 25, opened the scoring for the Reds when he headed the away side into the lead, although, he was taken out by Robert Sanchez as the ball hit the back of the net.
Despite such a strong and reckless challenge from the Brighton goalkeeper, he remained on the field of play and, both the on-field referee and VAR didn’t send him off.
Nonetheless, since his January move from Porto, Liverpool’s new flyer has made quite the impact and Cole praised the Colombian.
“They have so many wonderful players,” said Cole. “I think them bringing Diaz in when they brought him in.
“He could possibly give them that edge, from now until the end of the season, because he is definitely a special player as well.”

Within a week of being on Merseyside, Diaz already had a winners medal around his neck following Liverpool’s League Cup final triumph over Chelsea at Wembley.
In midweek, they survived a scare to progress in the Champions League and they will face Championship giants, Nottingham Forest, in the FA Cup next week.
Added with that, they are gunning down on the Premier League leaders, Manchester City, who face-off against Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The Reds have that all-important game in hand under their locker, not forgetting their trip to the Etihad in April.
