Gary Neville has criticised Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on Sky Sports Premier League (9:22pm, January 19, 2023) for conceding the third goal against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Manchester United defender believes that Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris should have saved Manchester City’s third goal in the Premier League game on Thursday evening.
Riyad Mahrez found the back of the net with a low shot past Lloris at his near post.
And Neville was not impressed with the Tottenham goalkeeper.
The former United defender was on co-commentary duty for the Premier League match between City and Tottenham on Sky Sports.

Neville said in the 64th minute: “The goalkeeper, I have said, has been in a poor run of run, and he has to save that. He hits it well, Mahrez, but that can’t go past him at the near post.”

Problem for Spurs?
In our view, Hugo Lloris is making too many mistakes now and is starting to become a problem for Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, of course, all player, including goalkeepers, makes mistakes, but Lloris has made bad errors in previous seasons.
And he was at fault for one of the goals that Arsenal scored against Tottenham in the North London derby last weekend.
Lloris is not getting any younger, and Tottenham really need to think about finding a younger and better goalkeeper than the £7.9 million (The Independent) Frenchman in the summer of 2023.
