Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were two of the Premier League outfits reportedly going after Youri Tielemans this summer.

In mid-May, The Evening Standard reported that both North London rivals were interested in signing the Leicester City midfielder.

For a while it looked like Arsenal were ahead of Spurs in the pursuit, with it being reported last week that the Gunners were ‘confident‘ of signing the Belgium international.

However, he could be now available to Tottenham if Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici still want him.

Youri Tielemans to Tottenham Hotspur?

That’s because Sky Sports claimed on Friday night that Arsenal have now ‘cooled’ their interest in the Foxes midfielder, having brought Fabio Vieira to the Emirates Stadium.

With the Gunners out of the picture, and the player not wanting to join Manchester United, the path is clear for the Lilywhites to get the player who revealed earlier this year that he wanted to play in the Champions League next season [talkSPORT].

Yes, Tottenham have signed Yves Bissouma, but Conte is set to lose Harry Winks, Giovani lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.

The Italian manager is going to need more midfielders coming in this summer than just Bissouma.

And with Arsenal out of the equation for Tielemans, well don’t be surprised if Spurs suddenly make a beeline for the Belgian, labelled ‘top, top class‘ by Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola.
