Some Arsenal fans have responded well to Lucas Torreira’s post on Twitter.

The Uruguay international completed a deadline day move away from Arsenal by joining Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan.

Torreira had been on the fringes of Mikel Arteta’s plans in North London this season.

And a departure seemed to be the best for all parties involved.

On Tuesday, Torreira revealed that he was ‘very happy and proud’ to join up with Diego Simeone’s side on Twitter.

And here’s how Arsenal fans responded to the player on social media:

The 24-year-old joined the Gunners for £27 million only two years ago but despite a good first season in North London, he gradually began to struggle.

The South American picked up an injury in the English club’s penultimate game before the season was suspended back in March, and was still injured when it resumed in June.

By the time he was fit, Arteta’s troops were winning games and with Dani Ceballos returning this past summer, there was just no way he was going to play regularly in any midfield role.
