Elias Sorensen has left Newcastle United on loan for the rest of the season.

Sorensen has left St James’ Park to join the League One side on loan for the rest of the season. The youngster was scoring goals for fun in the under-23s, and he will be hoping to replicate something like that form while he is at Bloomfield Road.
The striker can certainly take some encouragement from how Longstaff’s career has played out since spending last season on loan with Blackpool. The midfielder has recently broken into Rafa Benitez’s plans and has really impressed the supporters with his performances.
And McPhillips suggested that he would love to help put Sorensen on the same path while he is a part of his squad.

“We’re delighted to have him and thank Newcastle United for allowing the loan move to happen. We had a similar arrangement with Sean Longstaff last season and it’s been great to watch his development since, making his Premier League debut at Anfield and playing more games since,” he told the club’s official website.
“Hopefully Elias can have a similar impact with us and return to Newcastle United benefitting from the whole experience.”

Sorensen certainly appears to have all the tools required to carve out a bright future on Tyneside. His goalscoring record is seriously impressive, and the Dane already appears to be incredibly popular with the fans having developed a Geordie accent.
Salomon Rondon has done well since arriving at Newcastle. But there is a fantastic opportunity for Sorensen to push himself much closer towards the first-team fold ahead of the summer.
