Rafael Benitez has reportedly decided to loan out in-form Newcastle United youngster Elias Sorensen.

Blackpool boss Terry McPhillips has admitted to the Chronicle that Newcastle United striker Elias Sorensen is very much in demand.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has decided that loaning out Sorensen is the best course of action for the young striker.

Sorensen has netted with great frequency in Newcastle’s development side, but he has struggled to break into Benitez’s starting line-up.

And Blackpool are now hoping to take advantage of Newcastle making the youngster available.

“We are interested in him (Sorensen), yes, but so are a number of other clubs so we won’t get too excited about that unless it happens,” McPhillips said.

Some Newcastle fans have actually been calling for Sorensen to be given a chance at St. James’ Park.

However, Benitez has been reluctant to turn to youngsters, with Newcastle in a relegation battle.

The Magpies are currently sat in the bottom three in the Premier League and even Benitez has admitted it was be a ‘miracle’ if they stay up.

If Sorensen does move to Blackpool, he would join the Tangerines as they battle to claim a play off spot in League One.
