Robert Skov has reportedly paved the way for a move to Premier League outfit Spurs after a stunning season in Denmark with FC Copenhagen.

Robert Skov certainly made an impression during Denmark’s opening game of the U21 European Championships on Monday night.

All eyes were on the Copenhagen star as the Danes took on Germany at the Stadio Friuli. After all, Skov plundered 32 goals in the Superligaen last season, becoming the first player to score so many goals in a single league campaign since the legendary Ebbe Sand over 20 years ago.

According to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves, West Ham and Watford.

And though his performance against Germany highlighted plenty of rough edges, a tendency to do ‘too much’ as he aimed to carry a limited Danish team, Skov’s raw talent was clear for all to see.

Denmark might have lost 3-1 against a dominant German side but a brilliantly taken second half penalty ensured Skov, who threatened a goal all night, deservedly got his name on the scoresheet.

And Terry Gibson, the Tottenham-mad pundit who started his career in North London, was certainly impressed.

“Give the ball to the number ten, he’s the only one who’s going to do anything,” Gibson told Sky Sports (17 June, 8pm).

“He’s got that sharpness, that power, that pace.”

With Mauricio Pochettino staying at Tottenham for at least another year, Spurs could be the perfect destination for a winger who has the potential to be Denmark’s most exciting talent since a certain Christian Eriksen.
