Speaking to talkSPORT, former Rangers star Terry Butcher has urged the club to add more pace to their side before the end of the transfer window.

The Gers have been busy so far this summer, bringing in ten new faces to Ibrox so far.

It has been a concerted effort to improve all across the pitch with Mark Warburton now possession competition for places in nearly every position.

His attacking options have been particularly improved as Joe Dodoo and Joe Garner have joined from Leicester City and Preston respectively.

Butcher though wants to see more pace adde because he believes that is the factor that will see Celtic win the title.

“I just think Rangers need pace,” he told talkSPORT.

“Celtic have got pace and that’s what’s going to win the title for Celtic this year. I think this is a transition period for Rangers but it’s good to see them at the top.”

While Butcher wants to see pace added to the side, it seems unlikely that Warburton will look to do so.

His focus at this moment in stead appears to be on the centre of defence, with them short in that area and having already seen a move for Joleon Lescott fall through.

However, he has shown his willingness to add to his squad this summer and perhaps he will take Butcher’s advice on board should he get the defender he wants.
