Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard needs to sign a number 10 and a striker, suggests former Ibrox star Terry Butcher.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard
The former Rangers star, who played for the Ibrox club from 1986 until 1990, has underlined the importance of the Gers signing a striker in January.
Butcher told The Express: “I still think they need several players to come in. I think goals will win you games and if you get goalscorers in the teams that can take chances, or a chance, then that’s what you need against the likes of Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts – players that can convert the smallest of chances.
“So possibly a number 10 would be good, another striker for competition for places would be good.”

Striker needed
Alfredo Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is playing well for Rangers at the moment.
According to WhoScored, the Colombia international striker has scored nine goals in the Scottish Premiership, twice in the Europa League, and four times in the Scottish League Cup.
Kyle Lafferty is an able back-up and perhaps could even play with Morelos on a regular basis, but AS Roma-owned striker Umar Sadiq is struggling.
It would make sense for Rangers to sign a striker in the January transfer window and cut short Sadiq’s loan spell.
Alfredo Morelos praise
Meanwhile, former Scotland international striker James McFadden has spoken highly of Morelos, and believes that the 22-year-old is the best striker in the Scottish Premiership on current form.
The Scottish Sun quotes McFadden as saying when asked if Morelos is the best in Scotland: “I think on form you would have to say yes.”
