The Portuguese coach failed to guide the Gers to the runners-up spot in the Scottish Premiership last season.
Rangers’ performances and results so far this campaign have not been great, and there is a chance that the Ibrox outfit may fail to finish second yet again.
Former Rangers star Terry Butcher, 58, though, does not think that the Scottish club will sack Caixinha.
“There will be [questions asked] but not by the Rangers board I feel,” The Scottish Sun quotes Butcher as saying.
“I think the board will not do anything for some time yet because they want to appear to be fools having signed the wrong man and backed him to the hilt and not come up with the goods.
“So I think they will take their time no matter what happens. So he has an extended period but how long that period will last, I don’t know.”
Caixinha is a good manager and should be given time, but performances do need to improve.
One can understand Rangers not being able to complete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title, but the Gers should be able to finish second.
Rangers have a squad good enough to complete with the likes of Hibernian and Aberdeen for the runners-up spot.
