Arsenal loanee, Auston Trusty, who is currently on loan at Birmingham City has said that Arsenal the best team in world football currently.

The ‘terrific’ 24-year-old is having a brilliant time out in the Championship, with Blues boss John Eustace even saying that he is set for a return to Mikel Arteta’s side, where he will compete for a first-team place next season. One can only assume that if the American centre-back impresses in training, he could replace one of the centre-backs, as he hopes to do.

However, Auston Trusty certainly feels his parent club, Arsenal have been the best team in the world this season.

The Pennsylvania-born defender, whilst not exactly being a young prospect was signed last season from Colorado Rapids, as the Gunners see him as a potential senior team member imminently, after gaining experience out on loan at Birmingham City.

Now, the ‘exceptional’ Auston Trusty, in an interview with GOAL’s Charles Watts has said that Arsenal are indeed the best team in the world, as things stand.

“I would say they are the best team in the world. It’s been a remarkable season and hopefully, it continues and they go on and win the title. I know that’s the mindset of the entire Arsenal organisation. I wish I was a part of the team doing it but watching it from afar, I’m still proud watching the squad do what they’re doing”, Auston Trusty said.

Trusty is spot on

Up until this point, it is fair to say that alongside the league leaders, perhaps Napoli are the standout team in Europe, with other superpowers like Manchester City, Real Madrid and Liverpool looking worse for wear.

And for Auston Trusty to pick Arsenal as the best team in the world is not a ridiculous shout, as they are right up there amongst the very elite.
