Swansea City fans are gutted as Trevor Birch has moved to join Tottenham Hotspur.
Birch has left Swansea to become Tottenham’s new director of football operations.
Birch could now have an influence over Tottenham’s transfer strategy, and the reviews on his work at Swansea should encourage Spurs supporters that they have made a wise appointment.
Birch did indeed help Swansea perform above the expectations of many last season during his time at the Welsh club, despite working on a limited budget.
Tottenham will hope that he can be similarly as impactful with them as he was at the Liberty Stadium.
Spurs fell out of the top four last season, and there is now a challenge on for Jose Mourinho’s side to get back among the Champions League qualification spots.
Tottenham are first in action this term, when they take on Everton on September 13th.
