Joe Gomez is enduring a difficult first-half display for Liverpool this evening.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are away to Rangers in the Champions League and Roberto Firmino cancelled out an early opener from Scott Arfield.
Liverpool fell behind when Arfield found himself in far too much space and according to Jonathan Woodate, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the 25-year-old defender wasn’t quick enough across the turf to stop him from scoring.
He said: “What a finish! It was an absolute pinpoint finish. Joe Gomez just couldn’t get round quick enough to deny him.”

Shortly after that, the Ibrox outfit nearly doubled their lead through Antonio Colak.
And Steven Thompson, speaking to BBC Sport Scotland, has said that it was ‘terrible’ from Gomez in the build-up to that chance.
He said: “Big chance that. It’s a terrible error from Gomez, Colak reads it, but tries to knick it and gets it all wrong. This Liverpool side are rocked.”
Firmino equalised seven minutes after Arfield’s opener to keep a shell-shocked Reds outfit in the game.
Klopp’s troops haven’t been at the races all season long and there’s a big 45 minutes ahead for the Premier League outfit.
Fortunately for Liverpool, they have a certain Mohamed Salah on the bench who, despite struggling himself this season, is always capable of turning a game – any game – on its head within an instance.
Hopefully for the German manager he won’t need him tonight.
