Tony Cascarino has told The Times that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United should bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount in the summer transfer window.

The former Chelsea player has raved about Mount, and believes that the England international midfielder would be a good signing for Liverpool or Newcastle.

The talkSPORT pundit has outlined the attributes of the 24-year-old England international.

90min have reported that Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United all are keen on signing Mount from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Talks between the English star and Chelsea over a new contract are not going well.

Liverpool and Newcastle United backed to move for Mason Mount

Cascarino said about Mount: “Mason Mount has been a very good player for a long time but finds himself out of the picture at Stamford Bridge.

“Chelsea may want him off the wage bill as they try to balance the books, in which case a number of clubs would be interested, not least Newcastle and Liverpool. He is tenacious, has a great work rate and will score plenty of goals.”

Liverpool or Newcastle United for Mason Mount?

In our view, if Mason Mount has a choice between Liverpool and Newcastle United, then he is likely to pick the Reds.

Okay, Newcastle are a big club and established Premier League club who have wealthy owners in PIF.

And the Magpies could also end up in the Premier League top four this season.

However, Liverpool are a bigger club and are a global brand, and in manager Jurgen Klopp, they have one of the best managers in the world.

Leaving Chelsea for Liverpool would be a sideways move for Mount, and we believe that he would pick the Reds over the Magpies.
