Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced the signing of Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan.

What’s the story?

Well, the centre-back has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at Celtic Park.

Starfelt arrives in a deal worth £4m, and joins as an immediate replacement for Kristoffer Ajer.

The towering Norwegian signed for Brentford in a move worth £13.5m on the same day as Starfelt’s arrival.

Ange Postecoglou seems to have found a great defender for the money involved.

Starfelt is a senior international, with three caps for Sweden to his name.

At 26 years of age, Celtic have bought him just as he’s about to enter his best years too – it seems like a great signing.

The end for Nir Bitton?

After his red card against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday, Nir Bitton won’t have put himself in Postecoglou’s good books.

The 29-year-old has often been underwhelming for the Bhoys, so Starfelt’s arrival could spell the end of his time in the first-team.

If he continues to cost Celtic like he did in the Champions League qualifier, Postecoglou will be sick of the sight of him.

For now, let’s see how the Celtic fans on Twitter reacted to the club’s announcement
