Young Leeds striker Hoskun Temenushkov got his pre-season off to a flyer with a goal against Wigan.
Leeds United youngster Hoskun Temenuzhkov has posted a video of his goal for Leeds Under-23’s against Wigan on Twitter in his first pre-season appearance of the season – and some Leeds fans have called for a place in the first team.
The 18-year-old striker was promoted to Carlos Corberan’s side at times during the 2017-18 campaign and it seems he could be a regular figure of the Whites’ second string this season after starring against the Latics.
The two-time Bulgaria Under-18 international is highly-rated by Leeds after he joined the Yorkshire club from Barcelona’s La Masia academy last summer, and showed just why fans should be getting excited.
He posted on Twitter his goal against the Latics. which shows him latching onto a long ball before rounding Wigan’s goalkeeper and slotting the ball into an empty net.
Leeds are likely to be on the lookout for a new striker this summer, with new manager Marcelo Bielsa already axing seven players. The Whites have just Caleb Ekuban and Kemar Roofe to choose from, in terms of first-team options.
But Bielsa is yet to sign a new striker and that could see him try the likes of Sam Dalby, Ryan Edmondson and indeed Temenuzhkov during pre-season – with their first friendly coming against League Two Forest Green Rovers on July 17.
Some fans reacted to Temenuzhkov’s Tweet by considering whether the Bulgarian ace is worthy of a chance in the first team, while others applauded the striker for his goal.
