Andy Hinchcliffe was critical of Diego Llorente during Sky Sports’ live coverage of Aston Villa’s win at Leeds on Saturday.

Just before the half-time break, Ollie Watkins was punished for a foul on the Leeds defender, who was ‘rolling about the pitch’ like he had a ‘major problem’, according to Hinchcliffe.

But as Llorente lay on the floor, Watkins attempted to pick him up only for the Leeds man to spring into life, jump up and confront the Villa striker.

Hinchliffe shared that ‘tells you everything’ about Llorente attempting to ‘milk’ the situation and trying to get his opponent booked.

“Well, that tells you absolutely everything (On Llorente rolling around on the floor and then jumping straight back up and confronting Watkins when he tries to pick him up).

“Ollie Watkins, normally he’s not a malicious player. We haven’t seen it. In real-time, it didn’t look too bad.

“It looked a foul. But the way Llorente’s rolling about the pitch and clutching his ankle, it looks like he’s got a major problem and then suddenly Watkins tries to help him to his feet and he’s squaring up to him and he seems okay.

“So, how badly injured are you? Maybe there is a little bit of a kick out. But there’s certainly no major injury there. Again, when Watkins gets him to his feet. The way Llorente reacts tells you everything. He’s trying to milk it and maybe trying to get Watkins booked.”

There was sure to be some bite in this match given how both teams have fought over the years.

Whether it’s drama with the ball – Roofe scoring a last-minute winner or Albert Adomah scoring an uncontested goal, you are sure to be entertained during a Villa & Leeds fixture.

In the end, it was Villa who walked away from Yorkshire with the points in the bag and another step towards them potentially securing European football at the end of the season.
