Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Davide Ancelotti – Carlo Ancelotti’s son – sent them a message after leaving Goodison Park.
What did he say?
The 31-year-old, who follows his father across Europe as his assistant, posted a heartwarming message to the Goodison Park faithful on Twitter.
In the tweet, Ancelotti calls Everton a special club with amazing supporters, before thanking them and admitting he’ll be a Toffee forever.
It may only have been a short message, but it seems to have gone down well with the Everton fans on Twitter.
One told Ancelotti that he can stay if he wants, while two more fans suggested appointing him as manager.
Others compared Ancelotti’s kind comments to his father’s less emotional statement, after he accepted Real Madrid’s offer.

What is Ancelotti Junior’s background?
Ancelotti became the Premier League’s youngest assistant manager when he followed his father to Merseyside, but nepotism is far from the case.
Ancelotti is a student of the game, and has graduated as a Sports Scientist.
He was also instrumental in his father’s success at Real Madrid, as the Daily Mail claim in their profile of the Italian.

Despite this, those calling for him to replace his father as manager are clearly just getting desperate now.
Let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about his tweet…
