Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have been linked with Rennes goalkeeper Benoit Costil in the summer transfer window.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he is not interested in signing Benoit Costil in the summer transfer window.
According to L’Equipe, Celtic have been monitoring the Rennes goalkeeper for months.
The France international is out of contract at the Ligue 1 outfit at the end of the season, and the Bhoys could reportedly make a move for him.
Celtic manager Rodgers, though, has suggested that he is not interested in securing the services of the 29-year-old goalkeeper.
“Tell me why I would be interested in him?” Rodgers told The Scottish Sun when asked about reported interest in Costil.
“Why would I want him when I have Craig Gordon, who’s the sweeper ‘keeper and who’s top class?”
Implications for Craig Gordon future
Craig Gordon is Celtic’s first-choice goalkeeper, and it seems that Rodgers considers him as part of his plans for next season.
The 34-year-old was linked with a move away from the Hoops in the January transfer window, with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte telling The Scottish Sun that he wanted him last month.
Gordon’s current contract with the Glasgow giants runs until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 73 points from 25 matches, 27 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen, who have a game in hand.
