Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that Adrian has been handed a contract extension.

According to The Daily Mail, Adrian has been offered an extension to his current contract.

The former West Ham United goalkeeper is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season and will become a free agent in a few weeks’ time, unless, of course, he accepts the offer from last season’s Premier League champions.

The report has added that Caoimhin Kelleher will be allowed to go out on loan, as Liverpool recognise that the 22-year-old needs regular playing time to progress and develop.

Some Liverpool fans have given their take on the speculation, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter:

Adrian is 34 now, and the Spanish goalkeeper has not had the best of times when he has played instead of Alisson.

Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world – and apparently a brilliant header of the ball as well, as he showed against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday – and it is not easy for anyone to fill his shoes.

While a loan move for Kelleher would make sense, especially if he starts regularly for new loan club next season, the problem with that is that if Alisson gets injured, then the Reds would have to rely on Adrian, if he signs an extension.
