Some Everton fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported Atalanta have enquired about signing Alex Iwobi this summer.
Iwobi is certainly a polarising figure amongst the Everton fanbase, and it’s not hard to understand why.
The Nigerian was a big-money signing, but up to now in his Goodison Park career he’s not really lived up to expectations, struggling to find consistency for the Toffees.
So, as you can imagine, Everton fans are quite happy to hear that Atalanta are in for him.
Atalanta are a Champions League outfit who’ve just received a hefty fee from the sale of Cristian Romero to Tottenham, so they will have cash to spend, and Toffees fans are seemingly hopeful of getting a decent windfall from the sale of Iwobi.
Of course, whether or not this move comes to fruition remains to be seen, but it looks as though the Goodison Park faithful would be happy to see Iwobi move on this summer.
