It’s taken a little while, but former Tottenham Hotspur starlet Noni Madueke might be about to crowbar his way into some senior football on a regular basis.
The 18-year-old attacker left Spurs to join PSV Eindhoven back in 2018.
Madeueke was a big prospect at Tottenham and made his debut for the Under-18s at the tender of age just 15, but he snubbed the chance to stay in North London – and rejected a move to Manchester United, too – in order to join the Dutch outfit two years back.
He made his full debut for PSV back in March but, based on his latest performance in a friendly, he might be set for a much bigger role next season.
That’s because Madueke scored a first-half hat-trick in a 3-0 win away to German outfit SC Verl on Saturday afternoon.
The Tottenham-raised product opened the scoring on 21 minutes, doubled his and his side’s tally four minutes later, and completed his treble shortly before the half-time whistle.
It was hardly against Bayern Munich, granted, but he still managed to out-shine quite a few of his senior team-mates, such as Bruma and Sam Lammers, a striker who scored 16 Eredivisie goals a couple of years back.
As mentioned, Tottenham were keen to keep Madueke in North London – and he could show us all why next season.
