Amadou Diallo has posted a touching message to West Ham after the teenager left the Hammers to join Newcastle this week – thanking the club for his decade with the Hammers and their development of the talented winger.
Diallo, 19, has spent the last 10 years at West Ham. He has been a regular for the Under-21 side before this season, playing 25 times and even scoring five goals. But during this season, he has not played for the Hammers second string.
Indeed, the seven-time England Under-17 international – who has three goals in those seven caps – has actually already played for Newcastle’s 21’s. He started for the Toon in a 1-1, Premier League 2 draw against local rivals Middlesbrough.
Newcastle confirmed that they had signed Diallo – with a move believed to be a permanent deal, but with no indication as to how long the contract he has signed is. He took to Instagram to post a heartfelt verdict on his time at West Ham.

A trend is beginning to set in. West Ham lost one of their best Under-21 players to Leeds United in the summer, with Sonny Perkins making the switch north. Harrison Ashby has been linked with the exit door. Now, Diallo has gone.
It is a worrying sight for Hammers fans that they are beginning to lose their young stars. Perhaps the feeling is that under David Moyes, younger players are struggling to see the pathway into the senior side – despite, Ben Johnson.
Declan Rice, too. Iff not a bit of an anomaly given his huge talent. Diallo has chosen to move north to Newcastle, with Elliott Anderson a recent example of breaking into the side. West Ham need to do more to keep their young stars.
