Leeds United are adding another young talent to their books.
Leeds United’s efforts to scour Europe for the best young talent appears to have led them to Wales.
The Whites are set to sign young goalkeeper Matthew Turner, who recently joined the under-16s on their trip to Qatar’s Aspire Academy.
His impending move was confirmed on Twitter by Welsh club Pontardawe Academy, who stated that Turner will join up with Leeds at the end of the season and described it as an ‘amazing’ opportunity.
Turner is the second young Welshman to sign with Leeds in 2018, following first team striker Tyler Roberts.
Roberts is yet to make his debut after suffering an injury in his first training session for the club.
Turner will join a crowded set of goalkeepers at Leeds vying to one day make it into the first team.
Four youngsters have featured for the under-23s in goal this season, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, England youth internationals Will Huffer and Harrison Male, and Polish stopper Kamil Miazek.
