The teenage striker Henri Kumwenda has confirmed his departure from Leeds United on Instagram.
Kumwenda’s Leeds deal was thought to run until the end of last season, however, the Whites had made no official announcement regarding his release.
But the Malawian clarified matters earlier on Monday, revealing that he has moved to United’s Yorkshire rivals, Hull City, in the process.
He shared the following image, with the caption: ‘Happy to have signed my first professional contract with Hull City(.) Looking forward to this new chapter’.
Kumwenda will reunite with three of his former Leeds United teammates, Lewie Coyle, Mallik Wilks and Lucas Odunston at Hull, who also employ the former Whites academy player, Daniel Batty.
The 18-year-old moved to England as a child and signed for Leeds at the age of 11.
He went on to impress as he rose through the club’s youth ranks, making his debut for the Under-23s in early 2019, whilst also performing well at school.
And there were unconfirmed reports at the start of this year, which claimed that Liverpool were keen on signing him.
