Reported Arsenal and Celtic target Calum Kavanagh has committed his future to Middlesbrough, as announced on the club’s official website.

The Sun reported in March that North London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea want to sign the midfielder from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.

Herald.ie reported in April that the Gunners and the Blues were the first clubs in the Premier League to express an interest in the 16-year-old.

The report added that Leicester City and Newcastle United are also keen on the 16-year-old, and claimed that Celtic have shown an interest in the midfielder as well.

However, it seems that the 16-year-old highly rated youngster has decided to commit his future to Middlesbrough.

As announced on the Championship club’s official website, Kavanagh has signed scholarship forms with them.

The son of former Middlesbrough Graham Kavanagh, the midfielder was a regular in the Under-18 side last season and has progressed well.

The Republic of Ireland Under-17 international will now hope to continue his development at Boro, and perhaps he will find himself in the first team at the Riverside Stadium soon.
