Tottenham Hotspur will take on Liverpool in the Champions League final next month.
Teddy Sheringham insisted that Tottenham have what it takes to beat Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1st, when speaking exclusively to Love Sport Radio.
Spurs produced a thrilling comeback against Ajax in Amsterdam on Wednesday night, winning the game 3-2 having trailed 2-0 after half-time, whilst the Reds overturned a 3-0 deficit from the first-leg to progress through against Barcelona.
Tottenham and Liverpool will face off in Madrid in three weeks time, with Jurgen Klopp’s side looking to lift their sixth Champions League trophy and Mauricio Pochettino’s men hoping to win their first.
The Merseyside outfit will undoubtedly be slight favourites heading into the game, but Sheringham told Love Sport Radio how he fancies Spurs to cause an upset against Klopp’s side:
“I know Liverpool have got a lot more points in the league but I think it will be so evenly matched. Both teams have their way of playing. But there are fantastic players all over the pitch and forward lines that you would pay to queue up and watch and I think it’s going to be a fantastic final and one I’ll be glued to. There is no reason why they can’t go to Madrid and match Liverpool and maybe nick it over there as well.”
Liverpool still have a chance of winning the Premier League title, whilst Tottenham can finish as high as third.
Both teams will be hoping to finish their respective campaigns with a victory, but more importantly not to pick up any fresh injury concerns ahead of the showdown in Madrid on June 1st.
