Wolverhampton Wanderers need a striker like Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku, suggests Ted Farmer.

The 78-year-old former striker, who was on the books of Wolves from 1960 until 1964, wants a quality target man to lead the line for Nuno’s Wolves next season.

Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and has been on the books of United since the summer of 2017 when he moved from Everton for an initial transfer fee of £75 million, as reported by BBC Sport.

Farmer told The Express & Star: “The Wolves team today, they are a very good passing team. They have done a great job.
“But I think they are missing a powerful centre forward. That is where I think they are short. You hear of Romelu Lukaku. Wolves are lacking a power player in the centre forward position.
“They pass well and they are looking very good. I am glad they are back there. Whether or not they will achieve the heights that we achieved ever again, I don’t know.”

Premier League adventure
Wolves won the Championship title last season with relative ease, and the Wanderers will be aiming to make an instant impact in the Premier League during the 2018-19 campaign.
Nuno’s side play good football, and it will be interesting to see if they maintain the same approach in the English top flight.
Needs for a striker
Wolves have some brilliant player, but the Wanderers could still do with a proven Premier League goalscorer.
Nuno’s side have already signed Raul Jimenez on loan from Benfica in the summer transfer window, and perhaps the Mexican striker will score a lot of goals in the Premier League not season.
