Demarai Gray was left out of Leicester City’s FA Cup matchday squad on Sunday amid claims that the likes of Leeds and Tottenham want to sign him.

Even though Brendan Rodgers made eight changes to his starting XI, as they beat Championship side Brentford, he still couldn’t find any room for Gray in his 20 – two extra players are now allowed on the bench because of the heavy and tight scheduling.

Speaking recently on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Duncan Castle claimed that he has been told that Gray could be heading to Tottenham.

Gray is in the final year of his contract at the King Power and Spurs aren’t the only team seemingly chasing his signature.

The Daily Mirror’s paper edition on January 5 (page 47) claimed that Leeds were winning the race for the versatile attacker, who was recently praised by his manager.

Rodgers claimed that Gray is a ‘technically strong’ attacker and someone who has ‘all the attributes’, as he told Sky Sports.

There’s probably no room for Gray at Tottenham, even in the summer, because of their depth in the attacking third, but he could be a solid fit at Elland Road.

Leeds wouldn’t be paying much for his services if they signed him this month or snapped him up for free in the summer.

Either way, his strong technical ability, speed with the ball, ability to play across the front three and directness would suit Leeds’ gung-ho style.
