Arsenal’s U23 outfit lost 3-0 to Blackburn’s youth side on Friday evening, but despite being utterly dismantled by the Lancastrians, there was still one standout performer everyone was talking about, Miguel Azeez.
Indeed, Gunners supporters were full of praise for Azeez after the 3-0 loss.
The midfielder started as the only deep lying midfielder against Blackburn, and while you would usually expect a player of that age to be overrun by the numbers game in midfield, Azeez did a great job of controlling the match on his own.
Of course, it wasn’t the perfect performance, Arsenal still lost 3-0 and the youngster isn’t absolved of any blame for that scoreline, but with drab performances all-round, he was one shining beacon.
As you can imagine, this type of performance had Arsenal fans talking.
Some supporters called for him to get first-team chances, while others simply praised him for his showing for the youth side.
