Maitland-Niles actually struggled for game time towards the start of Arteta’s time in charge, but his form towards the back end of last season proved that he was still a valuable asset.
Maitland-Niles may well have forced his way into Arsenal’s starting line-up for the new campaign now.
And it seems that right-back, who has just been called into the England squad, could well get the nod to play from the off in Arsenal’s opening Premier League match, which comes against Fulham on September 12th.
