Tottenham Hotspur fans are seriously excited over claims that Gareth Bale could join them on a two-year loan deal, rather than one.

Sky have reported that Bale’s move to Tottenham could now last for the duration of the remainder of his contract at Real Madrid.

That would mean that Bale stays at Spurs until 2023, at which point he could make a permanent move back to them on a free transfer.

Spurs supporters were already buzzing when it was claimed that Bale could return for them just for one year.

But Sky’s claim that the deal could actually last for longer than that has sent them into delirium.

Here is some of the best reaction to the transfer update on Twitter.

If Bale does re-join Tottenham he will arguably the highest profile signing any club makes in the Premier League this summer.

If Spurs can get Bale back to his best then he remains one of the finest talents in world football, and should have a huge impact on their first-team.

The potential to see Bale and Harry Kane working together at Spurs is one which has really set pulses racing, and the arrival of the Welshman may be needed to lift spirits, after what was a disappointing opening day defeat to Everton last weekend.
