This year has obviously been a horrible one for many reason, but it’s even worse for the Arsenal fans who have missed Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian wonderkid – labelled a talent of the century by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in 2019 – hasn’t kicked a ball for the Gunners since March due to injury.

Martinelli’s absence is even more disappointing because his injury came only a month after scoring a superb wonder goal for Arsenal away at Chelsea, underlining his potential as one of English football’s most exciting young players.

And considering Mikel Arteta’s side have only scored nine Premier League goals in as many games this season, you could argue that the Spaniard needs all the firepower he can get.

But it looks like there’s good news on that front as Martinelli attended Arteta’s training session at London Colney today.

Tomorrow’s visit of Wolves almost certainly comes way too soon for the 19-year-old.

But the important thing is that he’s on the comeback trail in a big way and here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to his training appearance today:
