Arsenal fans have been left rather emotional after seeing Bukayo Saka discussing Emile Smith Rowe’s call-up to England duty.
Hale End boys
The Three Lions’ official Twitter account captured Saka’s reaction to his fellow Arsenal academy graduate being put in Gareth Southgate’s squad, and it was a heartwarming video.
Saka said: “He messaged me last night and I was just so happy for him, so make sure you say hello to him!”
It was a rather heartwarming moment, and Arsenal fans were delighted to see two of their young players thriving.
Deserved recognition
Smith Rowe and Saka have really shot to fame over the past 18 months.
The two youngsters are now among Arsenal’s most important players, and key parts of Mikel Arteta’s first team.
Few can argue that Smith Rowe doesn’t deserve his first call-up to the senior squad either.
If there was one thing that was lacking from the playmaker’s game it was goals, but he has worked hard on the training ground to rectify that.
Smith Rowe now has hit the back of the net four times in his last six Premier League outings, and if he keeps up those sorts of figures he is well on course to reach double figures for the season.
The Arsenal duo could well receive game time for England over the international break too.
Southgate has seen a number of players pull out with injury, which opens up spaces.
England are set to take on Albania on Friday and San Marino on Monday as they look to book their place at the 2022 World Cup.
