Reported Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United target Odsonne Edouard is rated highly by his Celtic teammate James Forrest, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.

Celtic winger Forrest has said that French striker Edouard comes up with the big goals despite being laidback, and has hailed him for his performances in the big games.

According to The Times, Tottenham have scouted the French youngster regularly this summer and want to sign the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window.

The Daily Star has reported that Newcastle United want to bring the striker to St. James’ Park for next season and beyond.

Forrest told The Scottish Sun about Edouard: “He’s really chilled and laidback, but he’s come up with really big goals. Odsonne produces big performances and it’s great to have him in the team.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Edouard scored 22 goals in 27 Scottish Premiership matches for Celtic this season.

As stated on Celtic’s official website, the youngster has scored 62 goals in 126 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops so far in his career.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the striker has scored six goals and provided two assists in the league for Celtic against their bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United?

Tottenham do need to sign a striker as a back-up to Harry Kane, while Joelinton has struggled for goals for Newcastle this season.

Edouard is very young and still progressing as a footballer, but the former Paris Saint-Germain striker is ready to take the next step in his career, and he would be a good long-term signing for Spurs or Newcastle.
