The striker scored just three Premier League goals as Newcastle were relegated from the Premier League.
Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse is a target for Qatari side Lekhwiya, according to the Daily Mail.
The Senegalese forward netted just three Premier League goals during a disappointing season for the Magpies, who were eventually condemned to their second relegation in seven years.
Reports suggest that despite facing up to a season in the second tier, current boss Rafael Benitez is likely to stay on at the club, but Cisse is set to be deemed surplus to requirements at St James’ Park.
That has allegedly attracted the interest of Lekhwiya, who under the stewardship of former Manchester City midfielder Djamel Belmadi, currently sit fourth in the Qatar Stars League and are reportedly willing to offer around £5 million to seal Cisse’s signature.
The 30-year-old, is also thought to be attracting interest from China.
Relegation to the Championship means a number of first team players are expected to leave Tyneside over the summer, with Benitez facing the substantial task of rebuilding the side and mount a promotion challenge next season.
