Hasselbaink says he is delighted by the signing of the former Charlton midfielder.
Cousins has completed a move to QPR
Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told the club’s official website that he is relishing the prospect of working with “hungry” midfielder Jordan Cousins.
Cousins arrives in west London from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee, meaning he is set to continue his career in the Championship, following the Addicks’ relegation at the end of last season.
QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is delighted to have Cousins on board
The 22-year-old, who has signed a three-year deal at Loftus Road, came through the ranks at Charlton before going on to make 136 appearances.
Despite being unable to stop their slide into League One, Cousins was named Charlton’s Player of the Year for a second second consecutive season last term.
And Hasselbaink has clearly been impressed, claiming that his new recruitment fits the mould in terms of the players he wants to bring to the club.
Cousins is QPR’s fourth signing of the summer
He told qpr.co.uk: “When I arrived here, I spoke at length about the kind of players I wanted to attract to QPR – and Jordan fits that bill exactly.
“He’s young, he’s hungry, he’s got Championship experience and he’s got great potential to keep on improving at QPR.
“I am absolutely delighted he’s a QPR player and can’t wait to start working with him.”
Cousins was named Charlton’s Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons
Cousins is QPR’s fourth signing of the summer, following on from Ariel Borysiuk, Joel Lynch and Jake Bidwell.
Having seen his side finish last season’s campaign in mid-table, Hasselbaink will be hoping his new recruits can gel and mount a serious challenge for promotion next term.
