The 18-year-old Arsenal youngster will spend a season with Oxford United on loan and admits he cannot wait to get started.

Oxford United are a club that are “going places”, new loan signing Dan Crowley has told the club’s official website.
The 18-year-old Arsenal prospect will spend a season at the Kassam Stadium having enjoyed a brief spell at Barnsley last term, which saw him net against Everton in the League Cup before being recalled by boss Arsene Wenger.
And he is says he is raring to go for the League One outfit, adding that Michael Appleton’s team are a side on the up.
“I’m glad to have the opportunity here,” Crowley said.
“It’s obviously a club that is going places and did really well last season so I’m looking forward to settling in, working hard in pre-season and being part of a successful side again this time around.”
United boss Appleton is also delighted to have brought the young playmaker on board, adding: “He has a fantastic future ahead of him and it’s great that Oxford is starting to build a reputation as a club where we can work with young players like Dan, nurture them and play a role in their development. At the same time we will only do so if we believe it benefits and strengthens the squad here and I think he definitely fits that bill.”
Crowley is already an England under-19 international, but is also eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland.
He has already earned himself a reputation in North London as being one of the club’s most promising prospects, with the Gunners paying £209,000 in compensation to take him from Aston Villa, where he started his career as a youth.
A season of progression and impressive performances in England’s third tier will certainly go some way to enhancing his reputation further, and Wenger is likely to be keeping a keen eye on the teenager’s progress.
