Myhill is now set to stay at West Brom until summer 2018.
Myhill has added another 12 months to his current deal at West Brom
West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has signed a one-year contract extension at The Hawthorns, the club’s official website has confirmed.
Myhill, who joined the Baggies in 2010, has provided some strong competition for first-choice keeper Ben Foster in recent years, making 23 Premier League starts last season.
The Welshman showed some strong form last season
The 33-year-old had previously signed a two-year deal last summer, but now looks set to stay at the club for another 12 months until summer 2018.
The news has delighted boss Tony Pulis, who told the club’s official website: “We’re delighted Boaz has agreed a contract extension and we’ve secured his services for an additional year.
West Brom manager Pulis is pleased to have Myhill on board for another year
“Boaz is a great professional and he provides good competition for Ben.”
Myhill’s extended stay should provide plenty of incentive for Foster, with the former Hull City man proving himself to be more than a worthy deputy for the former Manchester United shotstopper, after previously spending the 2011/12 season at Midlands rivals Birmingham City.
Foster could see his place in the first team come under threat
Having impressed during the first half of last season, which saw Foster sidelined with a knee injury, Myhill will surely be hoping to catch the eye of his boss and enjoy another extended run in the first team.
The Welshman has made 78 appearances in all competitions during his six years at West Brom.
