Bausor is confident Middlesbrough can stay in the Premier League.
Middlesbrough celebrate with the trophy after being promoted to the Barclays Premier League
Middlesbrough CEO Neil Bausor has told the club’s official website he is confident that the club can establish themselves in the Premier League.
Boro were promoted following a dramatic final-day draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, ending a seven-year absence from England’s top flight.

Bausor says there is plenty of excitement surrounding his side’s Premier League return, with the club making eight additions to the senior squad this season, which could be increased further with the arrival of Fabio da Silva from Cardiff City.
And he insists they have no intention of making a return to the Championship any time soon.

He told the club’s official website: “We worked hard to get here so we want to stay. We have a great group of lads that got us into this position.
“We’ve put some investment in and worked to bring some players in that we hope can strengthen the squad we’ve got.”

Nevertheless Boro will be many people’s favourites for the drop this season, although Bausor believes the team are in a good position after a battle-hardening experience in the Championship.
“Coupled with the experience we’ve got from last year we’re pleased with where we are,” he added.
Boro kick off their Premier League return with a home game against Stoke City on the opening day, before renewing rivalries with North East counterparts Sunderland at the Stadium of Light the following week.
