The Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate took to the field in last night’s League Cup game at Molineux as a substitute.
Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate Taylor Perry has taken to Twitter with a heartfelt message for the Molineux fanbase following his competitive debut for Wolves in last night’s League Cup clash with Reading.
The 18-year-old was one of four Wolves youngsters to be left out of Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy clash with Carlisle United and was named on the bench along with Meritan Shabani and Dion Sanderson, while fellow academy ace Bruno Jordao was named in the starting XI.
Perry came on for Jordao in the 42nd minute after the latter – who had opened the scoring for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side – picked up a knock, and played the remainder of the game as Wolves were pegged back late on before triumphing in the ensuing penalty shootout.
The game provided Perry with yet another milestone in a fast upward trajectory, the youngster having made his first senior Wolves appearance in pre-season, coming off the bench against Newcastle United in the Premier League Asia Cup and seeing an effort cleared off the line (Wolves website), before scoring in the penalty shootout against Manchester City.
