The defender is set to take on Swansea for the first time when they play Everton this weekend.
Everton’s Ashley Williams before the match
Swansea City defender Neill Taylor has told the Daily Mail that he is hopeful Ashley Williams will get a warm reception from the Swans faithful when they take on Everton this weekend.
Williams departed the Liberty Stadium this summer when Ronald Koeman offered him the chance to move to Merseyside.
It brought about an end to an emotional spell with the Swans during which he had helped them to rise through the divisions to the Premier League.
He has since established himself as a key man at Goodison Park, helping his side to seventh in the table.
This weekend Bob Bradley’s team travel to take on Everton, the first time Williams will come up against his old team, and Taylor is hopeful he will get a warm reception from the travelling fans.
“Ash is an unbelievable player,” he told the Daily Mail.
“He will get a good reception from the Swans fans, and hopefully he does he has been a great servant. It will be weird to see him in a blue shirt but it will be good to see him. Hopefully we can put one over him.”

It will be interesting to see if Williams comes away from his first game against his former club with all three points.
Ronald Koeman’s side will be determined to put on a show against the Swans, especially after the humiliating 5-0 loss to Chelsea before the international break.
Swansea meanwhile, need to start picking up wins sooner rather than later with the gap to safety already six points, even at this early stage of the season.
