According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Andreas Christensen’s agents about a potential move to north London at the end of the season.

The centre-back is out of contract in the summer, and Spurs may look into the possibility of reuniting him with his former manager Antonio Conte.

Conte and Christensen struck up quite the partnership at Chelsea, and it was only earlier this month that the Dane was singing the praises of his former gaffer.

What’s been said?

Christensen spoke to Chelsea’s official website a few weeks ago about Conte and what he taught him.

“For me it was a lot of back and forward when I arrived back here and he (Conte) was here,” Christensen said.

“Conte taught me how to trust myself, relax my personality and be a unit instead of an individual defender. I was young at the time, turning 21, coming straight in the middle of the back three was a big task but I learned from every game, every session.”

Positive influence

Christensen was transformed by Conte during his time at Chelsea, and now, the Dane may be reunited with him at Spurs.

For one reason or another, Conte hasn’t been able to instil the same level of defensive rigidity within this Spurs team, but with one of his former players on board, Conte could find it easier to coach the rest of his defenders when he has a player as accomplished as Christensen in his ranks.

The centre-back could be a real positive influence on the squad if he comes to Spurs.
