Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is a target for Aston Villa. Can they afford to miss out again?

Much like Blackburn nearly signing Robert Lewandowski, Aston Villa’s near miss on Radamel Falcao is one of the biggest transfer blunders in recent years.
But unlike Blackburn who had a Volcanic ash cloud to blame for their transfer falling through due to a cancelled flight, Aston Villa only had themselves to blame.
It was serious blunder, with Falcao going onto establish himself as a force of nature in European football, winning trophies in France, Spain and Portugal as well as the Europa League, scoring 248 career goals along the way.

Morelos scored for fun in Finland before clinching a move to Rangers this summer, and he has continued to produce in Scotland, netting eight goals in 10 domestic games.
At under-20 level for Colombia he has seven goals in six games, and a senior call up is not out of the question.

It would be easy to dismiss his achievements so far and put them down to the poor standard of league he is playing in, but this could lead Villa into the same trap they fell in with Falcao, failing to take his scoring record in Argentina seriously.
Morelos could improve Villa’s fortunes right now, and is worth taking a gamble on. In the process they can correct one of their biggest ever errors.
