Premier League clubs are reportedly pursuing Celtic duo Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele.

Celtic put up a valiant fight on Tuesday night, as they lost 2-1 at home to German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Bhoys were expected to lose to Jupp Heynckes’ men after a 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena a fortnight ago, but gave Bayern a run for their money in a fine performance.
Brendan Rodgers will be proud of his players, and Premier League clubs may have also been impressed, having allegedly sent scouts to Celtic Park.
The Daily Record report that 17 of the 20 Premier League clubs sent scouts to watch Celtic’s game with Bayern, particularly taking an interest in left back Kieran Tierney and striker Moussa Dembele.

One club who should have been keeping tabs on both players is Newcastle United, especially given that manager Rafael Benitez should be in the market for a left back and a centre forward in 2018.
Signing Tierney and Dembele won’t be easy in Newcastle’s current state given Mike Ashley’s lack of funding for new signings, but with a takeover on the horizon, Benitez should have more money to spend in the transfer market.
Tierney, whose signature has been made all the more difficult given his new six-year deal with Celtic, would be the perfect replacement for Paul Dummett at left back, offering great balance between attack and defence as well as huge potential.

The Scotland international may be wanted by top Premier League clubs, but he would be guaranteed first-team football with Newcastle, and the Magpies should be willing to fork out huge money to bid for him when their takeover is completed.
Meanwhile, striker Dembele would offer the goal threat that Joselu doesn’t provide often enough. The Frenchman, 20, hit 32 goals last season, and would give Rafael Benitez a focal point in attack as well as a threat in behind the defence, whilst also possessing the huge potential that Tierney also has.
Signing both players would surely cost upwards of £50million, and whilst that may be seen as a gamble on two players in Scotland, it would be a signal of intent for Newcastle, and a real focus on the future success of the Magpies.
