Tanguy Ndombele has taken a sly dig at Tottenham ahead of his return to the north London club, with the midfielder saying that he feels like nothing but a commodity for Spurs.
Speaking to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 26-year-old spoke out about his time at Tottenham and his treatment under Antonio Conte, who was quick to dismiss Ndombele last season having been left unimpressed with the midfielder’s performances for Tottenham.
With Conte now gone at Spurs, there could be a chance for Ndombele to make a name for himself under whoever Daniel Levy appoints as manager upon the Frenchman’s return. However, it appears that the player himself isn’t so sure that he wants to remain in north London.
Napoli hold an option to sign Ndombele at the end of the season, and although this clause might not be activated by the Serie A leaders, the Tottenham-owned midfielder seems open to the idea of leaving Spurs for good come the summer transfer window.

Ndombele said: “I don’t know what my future will be, many fans ask me to return to Tottenham but the clubs will decide and Napoli have an option to buy. I don’t mind being on loan here but sometimes I see footballers being treated more like commodities than people.
“There was no other solution with Tottenham and I’m happy I chose Napoli. With Conte there was no choice, I would have liked to demonstrate my value on the pitch but I was on the edge of the group. It was communicated to me from the first day of training with the team.”
Ndombele should look to leave Tottenham ASAP should he return

Ndombele’s career has continued to head in a downward trajectory ever since the midfielder signed for Tottenham in 2019, with the Frenchman failing to reach the heights many expected the former Olympique Lyonnais star to hit in the Premier League. And this summer must be the one where the 26-year-old leaves Spurs for good.
Whilst a new manager could rejuvenate Ndombele’s career, this is a story and fantasy we have seen numerous times in the last four years, and for the player himself, a clean break from Tottenham will be the best course of action after 18 months out on loan.
